On March 12, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program held a new immigration draw under its Skilled Worker Stream, inviting candidates who were selected through strategic recruitment initiatives.
In Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #266, Manitoba issued 46 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to eligible candidates.
Invitations were issued under two pathways of the Skilled Worker Stream:
Candidates were eligible for this draw if they indicated in their EOI profile that they had received a direct invitation from the province through a strategic recruitment initiative or under the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.
The majority of invitations were issued under the Employer Services recruitment initiative, which accounted for approximately 37% of all LAAs in this draw.
The distribution of invitations was as follows:
The temporary public policy allowed participating provinces to nominate foreign nationals for open work permits, enabling them to extend their work authorization while staying in Canada. Manitoba’s participation in this policy officially ended in December 2025.
Out of the 46 invitations issued, five candidates had a valid Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code.
In comparison, the previous draw held on February 26, 2026, invited 72 candidates through the Skilled Worker Stream. This means the province issued 36% fewer invitations in the latest round.
With this draw, the total number of LAAs issued by Manitoba in 2026 has now reached 249.
So far in 2026, Manitoba has largely focused on inviting candidates through its Skilled Worker Stream, particularly those selected under strategic recruitment initiatives.
Candidates who believe they met the selection criteria but did not receive an LAA may have encountered one of the following issues:
Applicants who experience these issues are encouraged to review and update their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to ensure they remain eligible for upcoming draws.
