Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released its latest temporary residence processing time update, showing improvements across several major immigration categories.
The June 3 update indicates faster processing for work permit applicants from India and the United States, while Super Visa applicants from multiple countries also benefited from shorter wait times.
According to the latest news from CIC News Indian work permit applicants saw estimated processing times decrease from 10 weeks to 9 weeks, while U.S.-based applicants experienced a reduction from 5 weeks to 4 weeks.
Inside Canada, work permit applications improved slightly from 201 days to 195 days.
Study permit processing remained stable across most countries.
India was the only major source country to record an increase, with processing times moving from 4 weeks to 5 weeks.
Visitor visa processing remained largely unchanged.
Pakistan experienced a slight improvement, dropping from 49 days to 47 days, while applications submitted from inside Canada increased from 25 days to 28 days.
Most countries covered in the IRCC update reported faster Super Visa processing.
The largest improvement was recorded among U.S. applicants, where processing times fell from 106 days to 96 days.
India’s Super Visa processing improved from 116 days to 112 days, matching IRCC’s official service standard.
IRCC emphasizes that processing times are estimates based on current application inventories and historical performance.
Actual processing durations can vary depending on application complexity, documentation requirements, security screening and overall application volumes.
The department continues to update temporary residence processing estimates regularly as part of its effort to improve transparency for applicants worldwide.
The latest figures suggest continued stabilization in Canada’s immigration processing system after several years of elevated application volumes and post-pandemic backlogs.
