The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has issued 1,376 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through seven draws held between September 2 and September 10. These invitations targeted candidates who already have Alberta job offers and are well-positioned to support the province’s labor market needs in sectors facing acute shortages.
Alberta has already broken its record for monthly invitations in 2025, despite September only being halfway through. The largest round took place on September 4, when 891 applicants received invitations under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. This stream continues to be Alberta’s most sought-after pathway, given its large nomination allocation and the sheer number of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in its pool, which now stands at nearly 42,000.
Date | Stream | Invitations | Cut-off Score |
Sept. 10, 2025 | Express Entry – Aviation Priority | 30 | 50 |
Sept. 9, 2025 | Express Entry – Health Care Priority | 70 | 64 |
Sept. 8, 2025 | Express Entry – Construction Priority | 121 | 61 |
Sept. 5, 2025 | Express Entry – Agriculture Priority | 71 | 48 |
Sept. 4, 2025 | Alberta Opportunity Stream | 891 | 56 |
Sept. 3, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-EE) | 67 | 44 |
Sept. 2, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway (EE) | 126 | 49 |
In 2025, the Alberta Express Entry Stream is inviting candidates based on provincial priority sectors. Alongside its three specific pathways the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, Accelerated Tech Pathway, and Law Enforcement Pathway the program is also focused on construction, healthcare, agriculture, and aviation. These are industries where skilled labor demand continues to grow rapidly.
As of September 11, Alberta has released updated numbers on its nominations for 2025:
Stream | Annual Allocation | Nominations Issued | Remaining | EOIs in Pool |
Express Entry – Priority Sectors | 405 | 348 | 57 | 4,619 |
Dedicated Health Care Pathways | 500 | 353 | 147 | 1,633 |
Alberta Opportunity Stream | 2,592 | 2,016 | 579 | 41,848 |
Overall, Alberta’s allocation for 2025 stands at 4,875 nominations. Of this, 3,749 have already been used, leaving 1,126 spots available for the remainder of the year. The province also reported that 1,768 applications are still waiting for processing.
