3725 candidates were invited by IRCC in the latest Express Entry draw, it was an all-program Express Entry draw with a cut-off CRS score of 500.
In the week of September, three consecutive draws occurred earlier than this draw. IRCC Held Latest All-Program Express Entry Draw on 26 September in which 3000 candidates were invited with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 504.
500 French Speaking Candidates Were Invited in the Latest Express Entry Draw which was held on September 27. Candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 472 in this draw.
First Ever Express Entry Draw for Agriculture and Agri-Food Based Occupations was held on September 28 in which 600 candidates were invited with a minimum CRS score of 354.
This draw means that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has now invited candidates from each of the six new categories eligible under category-based selection.
IRCC released its annual report on Express Entry on September 26. It was found that 46,539 ITAs were issued in total 24 Express Entry draws in 2022. This is 59% fewer ITAs as compared to 2021 (114,431).
It is because of the pause in Express Entry draws for Federal High Skilled programs between September 2021 and July 2022. Candidates were issued most Express Entry ITAs in the Canadian Experience Class (18,895) and Provincial Nominee Program (19,258) in 2022.
Under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the final 8,386 ITAs were issued to the candidates. No Express Entry candidates were invited through the Federal Skilled Trades Program by IRCC in 2022. The most common occupations to receive an ITA were software engineers and designers, information systems specialists, computer systems developers, and programmers. Cooks and food service supervisors were also common occupations for an ITA.
Residents of Canada got more than 30,000 of the ITAs that were issued. Indian (3,787) or Nigerian (1,730) residents received invitations among the remaining ITAs.
To allow the immigration minister to select immigrants based on the key attributes that support Canada’s economic priorities such as specific work experience of knowledge of French, the government of Canada made changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act in June 2022.
Six new Express Entry categories were announced by IRCC in line with this new authority in May 2023 which are healthcare, STEM professions, trades, transport, agriculture and agri-food, and strong French abilities. These categories were selected after consultations with stakeholders, provincial governments, and IRCC partners.
Provincial governments can select economic immigration candidates who are the most likely to successfully integrate into the provincial economy which is reflected by new categories in existing streams under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in some ways.
