Express Entry Sees Biggest CEC Draw in 16 Months as Canada Issues 6,000 Invitations
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a major Express Entry round, issuing 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This marks the largest CEC draw since July 2024, making it a significant development for applicants with Canadian work experience.
To receive an invitation in this round, candidates were required to have:
- A minimum CRS score of 520
- An Express Entry profile submitted before 5:30 p.m. UTC on July 15, 2025

This draw breaks the recent trend of high CRS cut-offs 533 or 534 which had remained unchanged for the last five CEC-specific rounds. The lower cut-off and increased ITAs indicate renewed movement in the CEC category.
This is the second Express Entry draw of December. It follows:
- The largest PNP draw of the year on December 8
- A major French-language proficiency draw held on November 28
- Another CEC draw on November 26
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 105,599 ITAs across all Express Entry categories.
