This draw is now officially the third-largest Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC this year, following earlier French-language focused draws held on February 19 and March 21. The continued emphasis on French-speaking candidates reflects Canada’s broader effort to promote bilingualism and support the objectives of the Official Languages Act, which encourages the growth of Francophone communities outside Quebec.

So far in 2025, French-language proficiency candidates have received the highest number of invitations among all Express Entry categories, with a total of 36,000 ITAs issued.

This latest selection marks the seventh Express Entry draw of October. It comes shortly after a series of category-based draws including one for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates on October 28, another for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates on October 27, and a Healthcare and Social Services draw on October 15.

Altogether, IRCC has now issued 80,485 ITAs through the Express Entry system so far this year. Most draws have been concentrated on PNP and CEC categories, while others targeted French-speaking applicants and professionals in specific priority occupation categories, such as healthcare, education, and trades.

With French-speaking candidates consistently receiving high numbers of invitations, it’s clear that IRCC is placing a strong emphasis on building a more linguistically diverse and skilled workforce. This ongoing trend aligns with Canada’s long-term immigration goals attracting talented individuals who can integrate easily into both English and French-speaking communities.

As Canada continues to rely on skilled immigration to support its labor market and population growth, upcoming Express Entry draws are expected to maintain a strong focus on category-based selections, especially for candidates who bring valuable language and professional skills.
