Lowest CRS Cut-Off Seen in Latest Canadian Experience Class Draw
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another Express Entry draw, issuing a large number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
In this latest round, IRCC issued 5,000 ITAs to CEC candidates. To be eligible, candidates were required to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515 and must have created their Express Entry profile before 6:58 p.m. (UTC) on September 9.

This is the second Canadian Experience Class draw in two weeks, with IRCC issuing a total of 11,000 ITAs during this short period. Express Entry draws are typically held on alternate weeks, making this back-to-back CEC draw a positive development for candidates.
The draw also marks a shift from recent trends. Previous CEC draws featured higher CRS cut-offs while limiting invitations to about 1,000 candidates. In contrast, this draw combined a lower CRS requirement with a much higher number of ITAs.
Notably, the CRS cut-off of 515 is the lowest for any CEC draw this year. Before this, the lowest CRS score recorded for the program was 518.
This was the fifth Express Entry draw of December. It followed a PNP draw on December 15, a healthcare and social services occupation draw on December 11, and the largest CEC draw in the past 16 months on December 10.
So far this year, IRCC has issued 111,998 ITAs through the Express Entry system.

Overall, Express Entry draws this year have largely focused on PNP candidates, followed by CEC applicants and French-speaking candidates, with occupation-specific draws continuing to support Canada’s labour market needs.
