4 Canadian provinces issued invitations from June 10 to 16 in the latest published Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.
Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island were the provinces that issued invitations in the recent week. It is the shared responsibility of provincial and federal governments to use Provincial Nominee Program as a tool to spread the benefits of immigration to areas of the country outside of major urban centers.
When candidates think about several immigration pathways to Canada, they usually wonder Why Provincial Nominee Programs Exist? What is their need? Candidates can be nominated by the provincial government through the PNP which they feel are best suited to economically establish themselves and integrate within the nominating province.
It becomes less challenging for a candidate to become a permanent resident after receiving a PNP nomination but being nominated by a province does not guarantee that you will obtain permanent resident status. Candidates must still apply separately to obtain PR.
Under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Programs, results were published from seven separate draws. The draws were held between May 9 and June 8. Alberta has 9,750 allocations for 2023.
In the Designated Healthcare Pathway, Alberta Job Offer stream, there were two draws for the candidates. On May 9, the first draw took place in which eight candidates were invited. The cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 307.
On May 25, five candidates were invited to the second draw with a cut-off CRS score of 401. On May 9, 175 candidates were invited by the province through the hospitality and priority sector tourism occupation. The cut-off CRS score was 444 for this draw. Due to these high cut-off scores required for PNP, candidates usually wonder How to Achieve High CRS Score in Express Entry.
Through the family connection and primary occupation in demand stream, a total of 236 candidates were invited. 119 candidates were invited to the first draw on May 11, and 117 candidates were invited to the second draw on June 1.
With the cut-off CRS score of 342, a draw was held on May 30 for 20 candidates in the Priority Sector-Agriculture occupation. With the cut-off CRS score of 382, 150 candidates were invited in the most recent draw which was on June 8, from the Priority Sector-Agriculture occupation and French as a first language.
On June 13, candidates were invited to the three draws by British Columbia. Typically, draws are held by British Columbia every Tuesday. 170 candidates from the International Graduate, Skilled Worker, Semi-Skilled, and Entry Level streams of the BC PNP were invited by the general largest draw which also included Express Entry candidates.
The range of the minimum Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS) was from 87 to 107. The province invited 18 individuals for healthcare occupations and also 23 early childhood educators and assistants. A minimum SIRS score of 60 was required by candidates in both draws.
From the three categories of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, 540 candidates were invited by Manitoba on June 15. For candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams, the first draw was occupation-specific.
A total of 255 candidates were invited with a score of at least 602, provided they worked in occupations under below mentioned National Occupational Classification (NOC 2021) major and sub-major groups:
To Skilled Workers in Manitoba who had a minimum score of 665, 205 nominations were also issued in a general draw.
In the International Education stream, 59 nominations were seen by the remaining two draws. In the Skilled Workers Overseas category, 21 candidates were nominated with scores of 718.
On June 15, the second draw of the month was held by PEI. For candidates in the PEI PNP Labour and Express Entry stream, 118 Expressions of Interest were issued. In the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur category, 4 Expressions of Interest were issued to the candidates, who exceeded the minimum point threshold of 82.Canada Immigration News will keep you up to date with upcoming Provincial Nominee Program draws.
