4 provinces invited candidates from November 9 to November 16, namely, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island.
To discuss shared priorities, territorial and provincial immigration ministers met with immigration minister Marc Miller in Toronto. The Federation of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI) was constituted by this meeting of ministers which is held twice a year.
Following the meeting, a press conference was held by Minister Miller, where he reiterated many of the points made during the release of the Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026. The Federation of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI) followed an eventful week where the results of the latest Provincial Nominee Program draws were announced by 4 provinces.
British Columbia invited more than 219 candidates were invited by British Columbia on November 16. This draw was a general one among the 5 draws, in which 116 candidates were invited from the International Graduate, Skilled Worker, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled streams. Depending on the stream, the range of minimum scores is between 94 and 115.
Skilled Worker and International Graduates in specific occupations were targeted by the rest of the four draws were targeted for Skilled Worker and International Graduates. 32 candidates were invited in healthcare occupations, 59 candidates were invited by early childcare educators and assistants, and less than five candidates from other priority occupations were invited. A minimum score of 60 is required by the candidates in these draws.
British Columbia also held the first targeted draw for those in construction occupations. With a minimum score of 75, 12 Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates were invited by the province.
On November 16, Manitoba invited 301 candidates to apply. For candidates in the 3 streams, 4 draws were held by the province. Among Skilled Workers in Manitoba, 100 candidates received invitations to apply in a general draw for all occupations with a minimum score of 809.
There was an occupation-specific second draw for skilled workers which considered a range of National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes from homecare, education, and healthcare.
The rest of the draws invited 48 Skilled Workers Overseas and 61 candidates from the International Education stream with a minimum score of 721.
Prince Edward Island also invited 141 candidates on November 16. With a minimum EOI score of 55, 134 Labour and Express Entry candidates were invited by the province. 7 candidates required a minimum score of 80 to be considered in a small draw for the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur stream. Through these two streams, 2527 candidates were invited by PEI in the past 12 months.
On November 9, Alberta invited 16 Express Entry who were in the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta Job offer stream. A Cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300 was required by them.
