British Columbia has invited new business candidates through its Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Program) in the latest provincial draw held this month.
The invitations were issued to entrepreneurs planning to establish a new business or purchase and expand an existing business in the province.
On March 10, 2026, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued invitations under two streams of the Entrepreneur Immigration program.
| Date | Stream | Minimum Score | Invitations |
| March 10, 2026 | Base | 117 | 7 |
| March 10, 2026 | Regional | 129 | Fewer than 5 |
So far in 2026, British Columbia has held five entrepreneur draws, issuing at least 29 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to business candidates.
The province has also conducted two draws under the Skills Immigration (SI) category on February 4 and February 11, issuing a total of 889 invitations.
The Base stream is intended for experienced entrepreneurs who wish to start a new business or purchase an existing business anywhere in British Columbia. It requires a minimum net worth of $600,000 and a minimum investment of $200,000.
The Regional stream is designed for entrepreneurs planning to establish a new business in smaller communities outside the Metro Vancouver Regional District. This stream has lower financial requirements, including a minimum net worth of $300,000 and a minimum investment of $100,000, but requires a community referral and exploratory visit.
Entrepreneur candidates typically register in the BC PNP system and receive a score. Those with competitive scores may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Successful applicants can obtain a work permit to establish their business in British Columbia.
After meeting the program conditions, candidates may receive a provincial nomination, allowing them to apply for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
