Skilled Workers Receive Invitations in Manitoba PNP’s Latest Draw

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its first immigration draw of the year on January 15, inviting candidates under the Skilled Worker Stream.

In this draw, invitations were issued exclusively to candidates who had indicated in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles that they were directly invited by the province through a strategic recruitment initiative.

Draw results

Manitoba issued a total of 55 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in this draw. Invitations were distributed across both pathways of the Skilled Worker Stream:

  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba
  • Skilled Worker Overseas

To be considered, candidates were required to declare a valid invitation from the province under a strategic recruitment mission in their EOI profiles.

Among the selected candidates, the highest number of LAAs approximately 38% were issued to individuals invited under the Employer Services recruitment initiative.

Distribution of LAAs by recruitment initiative

  • Employer Services: 21
  • Regional Communities: 15
  • Ethnocultural Communities: 9
  • Francophone Community: 7
  • Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective PNP Candidates (TPP): 3

Of the 55 LAAs issued in EOI Draw #262, 10 invitations were granted to candidates who also declared a valid Express Entry profile along with a job seeker validation code.

By comparison, Manitoba’s first Skilled Worker draw of 2025 (EOI Draw #236), held on January 9, invited 197 candidates, indicating a slower and later start to the year for the province’s nomination program.

Why eligible candidates may not have received an LAA

The MPNP notes that candidates who believe they met the selection criteria but did not receive an LAA may have been excluded for reasons such as:

  • Providing expired language test results or failing to enter a valid test number for an approved English or French language exam; or
  • Entering an invalid invitation number when declaring participation in a strategic recruitment initiative.
