This marks the highest CRS threshold for CEC draws this year, indicating growing competition in the pool.

This was the 7th CEC draw and the 22nd Express Entry draw overall in 2026. It also stands as the smallest CEC draw of the year, slightly below the March 31 round that issued 2,250 ITAs.

Notably, the CRS cut-off increased by six points, the biggest jump between consecutive CEC draws this year.

So far in 2026, IRCC has largely focused on candidates already in Canada, particularly those with Canadian work experience and provincial nominations.

A total of 61,154 ITAs have been issued this year, with CEC candidates receiving the largest share at 32,250 invitations, followed by French-language proficiency candidates at 18,000.

The upward trend in CRS scores highlights intensifying competition among applicants under the CEC category.
