Canada’s immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), has conducted another Express Entry draw targeting candidates with French-language proficiency, continuing a trend of relatively lower invitation numbers compared to earlier rounds this year.
In the latest round, IRCC issued 4,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates who demonstrated strong French-language skills. To qualify, applicants were required to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 419 and must have created their Express Entry profile before 7:14 a.m. UTC on November 14, 2025.

This marks the second consecutive French-language draw where invitation numbers have remained lower than earlier in 2026. While French-speaking candidates continue to benefit from category-based selection, the volume of ITAs has decreased compared to previous rounds, such as the February 6 draw, which issued 8,500 invitations.
The latest draw is also the fourth French-language category selection of 2026 and the 23rd Express Entry draw overall this year.
So far in 2026, Express Entry draws have largely focused on candidates already inside Canada, particularly those with Canadian work experience or provincial nominations. The majority of invitations have been issued under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Breakdown of draw types in 2026:
IRCC has issued a total of 65,154 ITAs so far this year across different categories:
The continued focus on category-based draws highlights Canada’s targeted approach to immigration in 2026. While French-speaking candidates remain a priority due to Canada’s bilingual objectives, the reduced number of invitations in recent draws suggests increasing competition.
Candidates aiming to improve their chances may benefit from boosting their CRS scores, enhancing language proficiency or exploring pathways such as provincial nominations or Canadian work experience to remain competitive in upcoming draws.
